Court of Love - Valentine's Show

Every February Fabrications is transformed into a luscious haven containing quality selected; unique love tokens for you to purchase and express the depths of your heart felt emotions.
These have ranged from beautiful handmade lingerie by Buttress + Snatch, bedding by Kate Storer to the amusing ‘F*** You You F******* F***’ screen prints by Jody Boenhert.
Of course here at Fabrications we believe that heart felt emotions can also be expressed outside of Valentine’s Day, so we hold a regular stock of quality love tokens all year around.

Hidden Art + Christmas

Every year Fabrications takes part in the annual open studios event ‘Hidden Art’ organised by Mazorca Projects (see Links) To coincide with this and also Christmas, Fabrications invites all the artists and designers, who have shown during the year to submit work for a Christmas show. The result is an Aladdin’s cave of quality handmade, design led, unique gifts. Thanks to a bursary from Hidden Art and support from the BMTRA (Broadway Market Traders and Residents Association) 2004 saw the first Friday ‘Late Night’ Shopping in the form of a life sized Monopoly board Map ar Hidden Art + Christmas ound which visitors could enjoy the wealth of items available in the shops and studios on and around Broadway Market, revel in free food and wine tastings, take in films on an outdoor screen, visit the Santa’s Grotto (with free lucky gift bags courtesy of Woolworths) and relax in the fine eateries and public houses. Hope to see you out on Broadway this Festive season!

Fabrications organises a special show during the London Design festival and 100% Design time (September) Previous shows include: ‘100% Fabrications’ (work by 4 Hackney based designers – Barley Massey, Helen Rawlinson, Kate Storer, Suck UK) ‘ReCycle, ReNew, ReUse’ (green design by Annie Sherburne, Barley Massey, Dam design, Flour, Jasper Startup) ‘Cut + Paste’ (drawings depicting the design process by yes you’ve guessed it Barley Massey and Jasper startup)

The Hagedashery

The Hagedashery is a small but dedicated corner of Fabrications, which aims to encourage and fuel more knitting and sewing amongst us. We also hope to reclaim the word ‘Hag’ and it’s negative associations! Launched in April 2005 with a family day of knitting and spinning under a gazebo on Saturday’s Farmers style Market (See Links) Visitors enjoyed having a go on ‘Wool N Boat’s’ oversized knitting needles and ‘Knitting Nancy’ as well as getting a feel for new and hand spun wool and fibres.

The Hagedashery stocks a range of unusual wool, cheap odd balls, regular and giant knitting needles, Knitting Nannies, Circular needles, wooden kid’s needles, crochet hooks, inspirational items, Kits and textile publications.
But please let us know any requests, as we are happy to try and source them for you!
