KNITTING AND SPINNING CLASSES start up at FABRICATIONS

The Hagedashery logo Fabrications will be providing different tailored classes for all abilities.
‘Getting Started’ – learn to Cast On, Plain + Purl + (combinations of) stitches and Casting off. ‘Creative Explorations’ – working on BIG needles, French knitting, 4 needles, making your own designer yarns and spinning. Sue Russell of 'Wool N Boat’ will lead these sessions.
‘Pictorial work’ – Create your own knitted picture or repeat pattern with Clare Murphy. From planning out to fruition! See Clare’s work from the ‘Spinning Yarns’ exhibition – see Gallery.
‘Making 3d objects’ – from functional items to quirky paraphernalia. Learn to read patterns or design your own with ‘Cast Off’ – see Gallery for further info on them too!
Price: £15 / £10 (concessions + under 18's) per 2hr session.
Booking required to secure place. (Max 10 people per session, price includes materials and instructions)
Happy 5th Birhday Fabrications!

Happy Birthday! Happy 5th Birhday Fabrications! A series of celebrations will be occurring at Fabrications including a special retrospective exhibition ‘FIVE’ during July, featuring work made specifically for the show by artists and designers who have shown at Fabrications over the past 5 years. There will also be a party at the end of the month to say “THANKYOU!” for everyone’s support in making the last Fabricated 5 years possible. We also hope to hold some ‘Tea + Sympathy’ sessions and a ‘Lucky Dip’ for the first 200 customers through the door. Here’s to next 5 years!
'The Hagedashery'

The Hagedashery The Hagedashery'  will be launched at Fabrications on Saturday 9th April. Drop in or out between 10am - 5pm for knitting and spinning workshops. You could learn on these giant needles by Wool N Boat! The Hagadashery will be stocking: quality knitting yarns, regular and giant knitting needles, knitting and spinning kits, cheap frills, inspirational bits n bobs for making and sewing, textile publications such as 'Selvedge'. We are also happy to try and source any requests. See Readers Offer in March/April issue of 'Crafts' Magazine to see how you could win these giant needles!

Art Textiles 3Art Gallery 3rd British survey of contemporary textile art organised by Bury St Edmunds Gallery. See Barley’s ‘Roadworks in Progress’, which will reconfigure from venue to venue.

3rd Restcycling Art Festival (4 – 5 September 2004)

3rd Restcycling Art FestivalArt Gallery Barley is off to Berlin for the 3rd International Restcycling Art Festival at Backfabrik, Saarbruker Strasse, to produce a collaborative interactive piece with Lizzy Clark (Metal Vivant) and Yogo (Crowzone).
Barley has devised an audience participatory piece based on road signs and the continental quilt.
This year’s theme is 100% Cre-Active. They will be redirecting the public into creating a quilted roadworthy tarmat. Caution women at work!
